If you know me, you know I am a dollar store kindof woman. I love looking through the dollar areas and seeing fun things to do with the kids. This week at the dollar store I spotted this Mosaic Kit for the kids.
I didn't necessarily want the to do the kit the way it was intended. I wanted them to do their own work. As we sat down to do the art project my kids did not want to draw their own picture first to make the mosaic. I suggested they do a mandala. They didn't know what a mandala was and so for this first time I made the background design for them. I asked them a shape and then put it in the center of the page and continued in this way until the page was filled.
They then worked on making it into a mosaic.
My two year old preferred putting the tiles on herself.
The final projects turned out perfect.

We have some of those from the dollar store, but we have used them with the pictures they came with. I love your idea though, the art work looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI will have to make a trip to the dollar store!! Love how the mandalas turned out. They are pretty enough to frame and hang on the wall. :)
